Job Description

An exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to join the Westbourne leisure finance team as an Accounts Assistant Apprentice. You will be based at the offices at Strawberry Bank, a modern styled drinking and eating destination in Meriden, Solihull. This is a great opportunity for someone that has a passion for accountancy and must have a strong understanding of maths to be suitable for this role. 

About the Applicant

The successful applicant should have good attention to detail, excellent communication skills, be a team player, computer literature, articulate and good with numbers. Personal qualities include having a smart appearance, be punctual, confident, flexible, proactive and be willing to learn. 

The successful applicant will attend Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber Training once a week and work towards achieving the AAT Assistant Accountant Level 3 qualification.

Daily Duties

• AP (accounts payable) processing invoices, reconciling supplier accounts to the statement, payment run exposure
• AR (accounts receivable) creating customer invoices for various sites and some external customers, chasing payment if needed
• Reconciliation of customer accounts
• Daily Bank reconciliations
• Month end close
• Exposure to Financial statements, VAT, PAYE and corporation tax further down the line
