Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber Training offers the Award, Certificate and Diploma at levels 2, 3 and 5. The level studied is based upon an individual’s job role and previous knowledge. The duration depends upon the route taken, timetable available on request. Work based assignments will be assessed to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding. Attendance is typically 1 day per week or half day and twilight.

The level 2 Award is designed for Team Leaders and Supervisors to development management skills, enhance team performance and explore leadership skills styles.

Key content will include:

  • Developing the core kills to lead to a team successfully
  • Developing an understanding of effective planning and monitoring work
  • Understanding the importance of effective communication in team leading
  • Understanding the tools to develop yourself as a team leader

The level 2 Award in Leadership & Team Skills is delivered over 4 days, including Induction.

The level 3 Award is ideal for individuals seeking to build key management skills, develop leadership capability, understand team motivation and confidently manage people. It is an ideal foundation to start building a career in management.

Following the Award delegates can progress to the level 3 Certificate by attending an additional 8 days.

Key content:

  • The course covers the following areas:
  • Developing knowledge in how to recognise, define, investigate and analyse problems
  • Developing an understanding of factors that influence motivation
  • Using and gathering knowledge to solve problems and make decisions
  • Understanding theory of motivation and use it to improve performance

The Level 3 Award in Leadership & Management is delivered over 5.5 days, including Induction.

The Level 3 certificate is designed for existing or potential first line managers to extend their management skills and knowledge. This includes decision making, planning, change management and creating a leadership style.

Following the Certificate delegates can progress to the level 3 Diploma by attending an additional 16 days.

The Level 3 Diploma in Leadership & Management is designed to develop personal management principles and practices. It will enable managers to develop leadership skills, effective communication, motivational techniques and problem solving.

  • Developing abilities in effective delegation and empowering others
  • Improving skills in managing workplace projects
  • Principles of good practice in workplace coaching

The Level 3 Diploma in Leadership & Management is delivered over 29 days, including Induction.

The Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management  is designed for project managers, departmental heads and other practicing middle managers to develop skills and experience in core management techniques, including the ability to lead, motivate and inspire. 

Following the Certificate delegates can progress to the level 5 Diploma by attending an additional 21 days.

Key content:

  • Understanding specific responsibilities of middle managers in enabling an organisation to achieve its goals
  • Developing ability to see a project from start to finish
  • Understanding ability to fulfil leader role responsibilities and evaluate own ability to lead
  • Developing knowledge of the organisation to drive management performance

The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management  is aimed at middle managers with substantial responsibility, seeking to develop leadership skills, improve organisational effectiveness and manage strategic change. 

Key content:

  • Understanding marketing concepts, importance and develop skills to review its effectiveness
  • Developing knowledge of different aspects of change in an organisation and the impact it has
  • Understanding the purpose of financial statements and the financial expectations of organisational stakeholders
  • Developing critical assessment of the validity of management theories in relation to own beliefs, attitudes and values

The Level 5 Dploma in Leadership and Management is delivered over 37 days, including Induction.

This course is for anyone who is involved or responsible for identifying and making improvements in the workplace. Likely to appeal to first line managers and above who want to understand how to use tools and techniques to address change in the workplace to initiate improvement. 

The two days focus on understanding the importance of continuously improving all aspedcts of work as well as the need to communicate and monitor the benefits of the identified area.

This course can also be accredited by successfully completing seven short questions to achieve an ILM qualification.

  • Understanding the importance of continuous improvements for quality and performance
  • Encouraging the team to adopt continuous improvement techniques
  • Addressing the problem using improvement techniques/tools
  • Using methods to measure the effectiveness of improvements
  • Communicating the benefits of improvements

The ILM Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) level 2 accredited is delivered over 2 days, including Induction.

Understanding sales and its key stages are vital to achieving business growth. Appreciating how sales relates to marketing and the different strategies organisations use, assists organisations to effectively plan market engagement to achieve the highest return. This course will explain the sales process and highlight the importance of target setting, measuring performance and evaluating success.

This course can also be accredited by successfully completing six short questions and answers to achieve the ILM qualification.

Key content:

  • Outlining the key stages in the sales process
  • Understanding how sales link to marketing
  • Differentiating between push and pull strategies
  • Using different approaches to achieve sales objectives
  • Appreciating how sales targets relate to organsiational objectives

Anyone who is required to manage projects within the workplace. This four day course develops understanding and ability to be able to manage projects as required by a practising or potential middle/senior manager.

The programme gives delegates the core skills required to be able to manage and lead a project successfully. It helps delegates develop the skills needed to become inspirational project leaders and successful project managers.
