C&W Chamber of Commerce Training Apprentices Win at City of Coventry Freemen’s Guild Awards 2023

The Freemen's Guild Award aimed to select two individuals for the 'Apprentice of the Year' 2023 — one from the small/medium sized employer category (up to 200 employees) and another from the large employer category (over 200 employees). Additionally, they acknowledged an Endeavour Award recipient for their remarkable achievements in overcoming personal challenges or for their exceptional acts of assistance to others.

Abigail Gumery, an accountancy apprentice with Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training earned the title of 'Apprentice of the Year' for 2023 in the small employer category due to her exceptional dedication and hard work in her role at the Smallpeice Trust. Abigail's impressive academic achievements and proactive approach to her studies have marked her as a rising star in the field of accounting with her positive outlook and strong commitment to do well.

Similarly, Niall Smith, an early year’s care apprentice with Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training, won the Endeavor award in recognition of his dedication to others both in work at Beatle Woods Nursery and in his efforts outside of work to support the wider community. Niall is an inspirational role model who has developed a range of strategies to accomplish some noteworthy goals, helping in the wider community whether that be through scouting leadership, lifeguarding or Duke of Edinburgh Award challenges all of which are worthy achievements. Niall has not let autism restrict his ambitions, particularly around his communication and social interaction skills.

Both apprentices received trophies in recognition of their success plus a financial reward.  Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training are proud of both winners, who exemplify excellence and dedication in their fields, serving as inspiring role models.
