Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber Training offers the Award, Certificate and Diploma at levels 2, 3, 4, and 5. The level studied is based upon an individual’s job role and previous knowledge. The duration depends upon the route taken, timetable available on request. Work-based assignments will be assessed to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding. Attendance is typically 1 day per week or half-day and twilight.

The level 2 Award is designed for Team Leaders and Supervisors to develop management skills, enhance team performance, and explore leadership skills styles.

Key content will include:

  • Developing the core skills to lead to a team successfully
  • Developing an understanding of effective planning and monitoring work
  • Understanding the importance of effective communication in team leading
  • Understanding the tools to develop yourself as a team leader

The level 2 Award in Leadership & Team Skills is delivered over 4 days.  Cost - £700 + VAT inclusive of registration and certification.

The Level 3 Diploma in Leadership & Management is designed to develop personal management principles and practices. It will enable managers to develop leadership skills, effective communication, motivational techniques and problem-solving.

The Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management  is designed for project managers, departmental heads and other practicing middle managers to develop skills and experience in core management techniques, including the ability to lead, motivate and inspire. 

Following the Certificate delegates can progress to the level 5 Diploma by attending an additional 21 days.

Key content:

  • Understanding specific responsibilities of middle managers in enabling an organisation to achieve its goals
  • Developing the ability to see a project from start to finish
  • Understanding the ability to fulfil leader role responsibilities and evaluate their own ability to lead
  • Developing knowledge of the organisation to drive management performance

The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management  is aimed at middle managers with substantial responsibility, seeking to develop leadership skills, improve organisational effectiveness and manage strategic change.

  • Developing knowledge of different aspects of change in an organisation and the impact it has
  • Understanding the purpose of financial statements and the financial expectations of organisational stakeholders

This course is for anyone who is involved or responsible for identifying and making improvements in the workplace. Likely to appeal to first line managers and above who want to understand how to use tools and techniques to address change in the workplace to initiate improvement. 

The two days focus on understanding the importance of continuously improving all aspects of work as well as the need to communicate and monitor the benefits of the identified area.

This course can also be accredited by successfully completing seven short questions to achieve an ILM qualification.

The programme gives delegates the core skills needed to be able to coach effectively in the workplace and make a difference to individual and organisational performance. 

This comprehensive training programme can lead to the recognised ILM Level 3 Unit Qualification on successful completion of an assignment.

The programme gives delegates the core skills needed to be able to build relationships and mentor effectively in the workplace, contributing or organisational development. This comprehensive training programme can lead to the recognised ILM Level 3 Unit Qualification on successful completion of an assignment.

The ILM Mentoring Understanding Good Practice in the Workplace Level 3 is delivered over two  days, including Induction. .

This course is for anyone who chairs meetings, or is likely to. Designed for middle or senior managers who are keen to optimise their time and productivity in meetings.

This 3 day course focuses on effective planning, identifying acceptable and realistic outcomes as well as impact assessment.

  • Understanding the different types of meetings and when they are appropriate 
  • Effective meeting preparation 
  • Methods to encourage contributions and control conflict 
  • Managing actions from meetings and ensuring actions are completed 
  • Techniques for influencing others
