Double century milestone for Chamber Training

One of the leading training providers in Coventry and Warwickshire is celebrating a major milestone – and it means businesses and learners across the region are benefitting from extraordinary experience and knowledge.

Staff at Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber Training have now collectively surpassed the 200 years mark when it comes to combined experience in the training and education sector.

The organisation, which is based in Radford, Coventry, is the training division of Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and delivers training and development for businesses as well as apprenticeships across a range of sectors.

Chamber Training employs 22 staff directly, meaning an average of more than nine years per person in the industry.

But, for members of the team, such as executive director Sally Lucas, they have been committed to training and development for even longer. Sally has now amassed 38 years with Chamber Training while exams secretary Tom Knott has chalked up a quarter of a century with the organisation.

Kerry McGuinness, quality & compliance leader has been with Chamber Training for 22 years while Sarah Williams, training manager, has worked there for 21 years.

Sally said: “We’d noted very recently that our staff had really built-up real longevity in the industry and when we delved more deeply we saw that we’d chalked up approaching 200 years of experience.

“We’ve now reached that milestone and it really does show just how committed we are as a team to supporting learning and development across Coventry and Warwickshire to support individuals and businesses.

“That includes everything from apprenticeships to bespoke training packages.”

Chamber Training offers apprenticeships in accountancy, business administrations, childcare, customer services, hairdressing, health & social care and teaching support.

It also works with hundreds of employers across the region, offering training courses, accredited qualifications and bespoke training built around the individual business need.

Sally added: “Our experience means we know what the best fit is for each employer when it comes to their training needs.

“It also means we stay updated with all of the latest offers of Government support to ensure we can keep businesses informed of what’s out there.

“For example, there are some really big incentives available to employers who take on an apprenticeship right now so we’d urge businesses to get in touch with us to find out more.”
