Care Home Taking Advantage of Training Support

As businesses are starting to move towards a new normal, Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber Training is reminding local businesses to revisit their company training programmes as eligible businesses can receive 50% ESF funding towards approved training costs.

Through the Coventry & Warwickshire Skills 4 Growth Programme, Chamber Training has been working with local businesses to deliver skills support through accredited and non-accredited skills training.  The focus is on the skills needs and gaps of a company, with customised packages to address business requirements and support business growth. 50% of the costs of agreed training is funded to eligible companies.

One local business that has successfully accessed the 50% ESF funding is Warwickshire-based health and social care provider, Pinnacle Care Ltd.  As a specialist dementia and mental health care provider, Pinnacle Care understands the importance of having trained, qualified staff who can adapt to the challenges of working within the care sector.  The CW Skills 4 Growth programme covers a wide range of both accredited and non-accredited programmes and has helped their workforce to develop and increase efficiency across the business.

Gaynor Bintley, Learning and Development Manager at Pinnacle Care remarked: “We appreciate and value the benefits of dedicating time and resources to our staff’s training and development procedures.  Working in association with Chamber Training has enabled us to meet the training needs of our sector and the 50% ESF funding programme enables us to deliver the practical skills required.

“Many of our residents have dementia-related illnesses so an in-depth knowledge of mental health issues is of paramount importance. The training is designed to support any staff member within the workplace who may interact with individuals who have the potential of/or have mental health problems. It has helped our staff to gain a wider knowledge and understanding of mental health problems and be competent to support our residents.

"Accessing the 50% ESF funding is a very streamlined and simple process to use.  Our account manager at Chamber Training, Natalie Lane helped us to identify the skills gaps in our business and she delivered a training package to cater for our requirements.“
