Essential Training in Mental Health Issues

A family run group of five specialist dementia care homes in Rugby, Warwickshire is celebrating over thirty years in delivering specialist care to individuals.

Working in partnership with the team at Chamber Training since 2010, Pinnacle Care offers a range of comprehensive training programmes including apprenticeships, diplomas, accredited modules and specialist care qualifications.

As part of Pinnacle Care’s vision to provide quality care, the Certificate in Mental Health Awareness qualification is a great opportunity to upskill and update staff knowledge. The Skills 4 Growth funding made this possible.

Gaynor Bintley, Business Development Manager at Pinnacle Care commented: “Accessing the Skills 4 Growth funding gave us the opportunity to enrol a greater number of staff members on to the course as well as helping with our recruitment needs. We only use agency staff on a sporadic basis which means we have a better continuity and consistency of staff to support quality outcomes for individuals living in the homes.

“The course provided our team with the necessary training to close skills gaps in our business and lead to accredited qualifications.  In real terms, we see this as essential training. It equips our staff members with knowledge, skills and a greater understanding of how dementia and other mental health issues affect the individual which allows us to tailor the individual’s care to match their specific needs.”

Chamber Training offers the Mental Health Awareness Training as a three day accredited course. For employers looking for a greater knowledge and understanding of mental health awareness, the accredited course attracts Skills 4 Growth Funding. Up to 50% funding may be available for the course, subject to organisation eligibility through Coventry & Warwickshire’s Skills 4 Growth.
