An Evening of Celebrations at CWCT

C&W Chamber Training (CWCT) recently hosted a Health and Social Care Apprenticeship awards evening to identify and reward high achieving Apprentices and employers across the Coventry & Warwickshire region.

The awards evening took place at CWCT’s premises in Coventry recently where over 50 individuals from local businesses attended. The event recognised outstanding Apprentices in categories such as Health and Social Care, Medical Administration, Progression of the Year and Employer of the Year Award.

The winner of the highly competitive award, ‘Employer of the Year’ was presented to Jean Woolliscroft from Ben Town Thorn, a care centre situated in Rugby which has been providing residential care since 1991 for residential and nursing care,care for younger adults, dementia care, respite care, rehabilitation and assisted living accommodation.

Claire McKenzie, Midlands Local Manager at Skills for Care and a presenter during the awards evening commented: “It was an honour to present at such a prestigious awards evening and recognise the hard workers and achievers within the health and social care sector as we often find they go above and beyond their call of duty.”

The other deserving winners on the evening included Cheri Jones, New Directions – Level 5 Apprentice of the Year, Emma Walker, Ben Town Thorns - Level 3 Apprentice, Anthony Brannen, Ben Town Thorns - Level 2 Apprentice, Victoria Meila, HC-One’s Victoria Mews Care Home, Lisa Barrett, New Directions won Progression of the Year. 

Commenting on the roaring success of the awards evening, Diana Jackson, Sector Lead of the Health & Social Care Team at CWCT said: “All of the category winners were selected from an extremely competitive number of entrants, all of whom demonstrated excellence in care skills and progression in their learning and development. They all thoroughly deserve the award for their hard work and achievements.”
