Mental Health Training for Businesses
In support of Mental Health Awareness Week 10-16, May 2021, Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training is promoting mental health training to help businesses manage their employees’ well-being.
Sally Lucas, Executive Director at Chamber Training commented: “Mental Health Week is a prime time for businesses to recognise that some individuals may be struggling with their mental health. As many employees have been working from home during the pandemic, they may be worried about returning to the workplace. Even before lockdown, the number of days taken off for mental health reasons had soared by 25% year on year and this could be the tip of the iceberg.
“Research shows that many businesses do not have the skills required to support their employees. Mental health can be an extremely complex area and the training we offer ensures businesses have the right mechanisms in place to support individuals, enabling them to effectively fulfill their work roles.
“The Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health starts on 7th June 2021 and runs over a three-day period. The course has been designed around the latest research findings and contains highly practical approaches to identifying mental health issues and creating the infrastructure to support individuals to improve their outcomes. An added advantage is it also leads to a nationally recognised qualification for the skills and knowledge gained.
“As a delivery partner of Coventry & Warwickshire Skills4Growth, eligible businesses are able to access 50% funding towards both accredited and non-accredited courses. We urge SMEs to get in touch with us to find out if they are eligible for funding towards such valuable business tools.”
